This was my third and so far final appearance at Sculpture in the Vineyards. This long running event takes place every year in the Hunter Valley north west of Sydney, New South Wales. The installation space here was conventional in a sense with nothing but a nice expanse of lawn to execute a painting. To create the shapes I relied on a 30 meter length of heavy ships rope instead of say, doing the shapes freehand or using pegs and string line. Using rope turned out to be a very satisfying way of creating improvised abstract shapes over large areas: especially long graceful curves.
